Five year break for rock band Coldplay?
->
British rock band Coldplay are set to take five-year break from recording and concerts to focus more on their families, claims the Daily Star. Frontman Chris Martin is keen to spend time with wife Gwyneth Paltrow raising their children Apple and Moses. Apparently Chris was overheard discussing the decision with friends after performing with Jay-Z at the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday night. As for this collaboration Chris Martin has recorded a hip-hop track with Jay-Z for the rapper?s new album. Coldplay frontman has previously also collaborated with Kanye West and the Streets rapper Mike Skinner.
It?s going to be a long, long time before you hear a new album from us. We?ve done a few things, but we?re all enjoying having families at the moment. If it takes five years for us to feel ready to record something new, then so be it. We need plenty of time to let it come together organically.

[...] It’s not even the fact that every one of your songs sounds the same that bothers me, as much as it’s the fact that you make Bright Eyes seem like a paragon of masculinity (okay, perhaps that’s a stretch). Stop whining. You’re married to Gwyneth Paltrow. She bore you two healthy albeit idiotically named children. You’re rich and famous and god knows you don’t deserve it. You don’t have the right to bitch anymore. Find something else to say. Or don’t. The only good decision you’ve ever made was your decision to take a long break from Coldplay. Here’s wishing you success in that venture. Because the next time, I go into a Starbucks and have to hear “Clocks” I might just punch a barrista in the face. [...]
